Deccan Psychiatric Association's CME-2013
Deccan Psychiatric Association's CME- 2013 was held on 21st & 22nd Dec 2013 at Mayur Resort, Dharwad. The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Dr Nagaraja , Director , DIMHANS Dharwad.
Inaugural address was followed by academic sessions. Sessions being
21st dec
1. Role of neuroimaging in Psychiatric Practice by Dr Shyam Joshi
2. Internet addiction by Dr Samir Gupte
3. Choosing Antipsychotics in Schizophrenia: Current Clinical Perspectives by Dr Venkatsubramanian Ganesan
4. Genral Body meeting
Sessions were followed by Entertainment programme and dinner
22nd dec
1.Things I learnt NOT to tell parents when they contact me for their Children's Problems by Dr M V Ashok
2. Dealing with difficult patient by Dr N M Patil
3."Placebo"- Deceptive or Effective? by Dr Govind Kulkarni
4. My experiences with TMS by Dr. Nikhil Chougule
5. Treatment of depression in comorbid conditions by Dr. SI Ramdurg
followed by Valedictory function.
Karnataka Medical Council had allotted Credit points for the CME. Dr. Arunkumar C was the KMC observer. Many psychiatrists from Southern Maharashtra and Northern Karnataka had participated in the CME. Post Graduate students from various Medical colleges had attended the CME and were exposed various practical aspects of psychiatry.
